Windows 10 versi 1507 Tidak Akan Mendapatkan Lagi Update Keamanan

Penghentian tersebut berbarengan dengan update terbaru (sekaligus terakhir) dalam cumulative update Windows 10 versi 1507 yang dirilis pekan ini, demikian dikutip dari situs Microsoft, Kamis (11/5/2017).


"Setelah 9 Mei 2017, peranti WIndows 10 yang menjalankan versi 1507 tidak lagi mendapatkan pembaruan keamanan dan kualitas," demikian tulis Microsoft di situs resminya.



Windows 10 version 1507 will no longer receive security updates

After May 9, 2017, Windows 10 devices running version 1507 will no longer receive security and quality updates. Microsoft recommends updating devices to the latest version of Windows 10 by visiting the Software Download site and selecting Update now to manually update your device. Since the initial release of Windows 10 in July 2015, Microsoft has released two additional feature updates that build upon each other, delivering the newest features and more comprehensive security. Windows 10 was designed as a service, whereby feature updates are required a few times a year. For most consumers, both quality and feature updates are delivered automatically according to their Windows Update settings. By policy, devices need to install the latest feature update within a 60-day grace period of its release to continue to be eligible for monthly servicing with security updates and other quality updates. We extended this grace period for version 1507 beyond this typical 60-day policy, but the time has now come to end servicing for version 1507. 

How do I know which version of Windows 10 I'm running?

In the search box on the taskbar, type winver and then press Enter. This opens the About Windows dialog box, where you'll see the version of Windows 10 that's running on your device.

If your version is listed as 10.0 in the About Windows dialog box, Microsoft recommends updating your device to the latest version by visiting the Software Download site and selecting Update now to manually update your device.

  • Make sure that your PC is connected to the Internet. And also make sure you're using an unmetered network, because most updates won't be installed if you’re using a metered Internet connection.

What happens if I continue to use Windows 10 version 1507? 

If you continue to use version 1507, your computer will still work, but since you won’t continue to receive new security updates or other quality updates, it could become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Microsoft offers complimentary support to ensure your device has the latest updates installed and requires that your device be up to date before assisting with other technical support issues.

Does end of service for version 1507 apply to all editions of Windows 10? 

Windows 10 version 1507 end of service impacts the following editions of Windows 10:
  • Windows 10 Home
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Windows 10 Education
  • Windows 10 Enterprise

Why is Microsoft ending service for version 1507?

With Windows 10, we introduced a new model whereby we release feature updates a few times a year, rather than holding back features for a new release every 2-3 years as in the past. Setelah mengunjungi situs tersebut, klik menu Update Now untuk mengunduh versi OS terbaru Windows 10.

Adapun versi Windows 10 terbaru yang dirilis oleh Microsoft adalah versi 1703. Versi ini juga dikenal dengan sebutan Creators Update RS2.

1. Jalankan Notepad
2. Klik Menu Help> About Notepad

3. Akan muncul versi WIndwos yg sedang digunakan
