PT FUJIFILM Indonesia (Fujifilm) mengumumkan peluncuran kamera Fujifilm GFX 50R. Kamera mirrorless digital ini dilengkapi sensor gambar FUJIFILM G dengan medium format (43,8x32,9mm) dan ukuran 1,7 kali ukuran sensor gambar pada kamera full frame 35mm. Melalui keterangan resmi yang diterima Okezone, kamera GFX 50R mampu menunjukkan karakteristik hasil foto yang diklaim jernih dan superior. Perangkat memiliki bobot 145 gram lebih ringan dan 25mm lebih ramping dibandingkan pendahulunya, FUJIFILM GFX 50S.

Sejak diluncurkan pada Januari 2017, kamera GFX 50S menuai banyak respon positif dari para fotografer profesional. Sebagian fotografer, terutama yang memiliki spesialisasi di pemotretan pernikahan, portrait, dan street photography, menginginkan kamera yang lebih praktis dan ringan untuk dibawa-bawa.

Memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut, FUJIFILM menghadirkan GFX 50R sebagai penerus kamera film berformat medium, seperti GA 645 dan GF670.

Sistem GFX yang merupakan kamera mirrorless dengan medium format saat ini menawarkan kompatibilitas dengan tujuh lensa FUJINON GF, yang mencakup focal length dari 23mm (setara dengan 18mm dalam format film 35mm) hingga 250mm (setara dengan 198mm dalam format film 35mm). 

Semua lensa GF mampu mencapai resolusi gambar hingga 100MP, sehingga pengguna dapat mengandalkan kamera GFX untuk mengikuti tuntutan perkembangan zaman di masa depan.

Kamera ini juga dirancang tahan cuaca dan tahan debu, serta dapat beroperasi pada suhu serendah -10 derajat Celcius. Fotografer profesional dapat menggunakan kamera ini dalam kondisi luar ruangan yang ekstrem.
